Mary C Friesz is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian with aMaster of Science degree in both Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, from Columbia University. In addition, she is a Certified Diabetes Educator, a Certified Exercise Instructor, & a Member of the Golden Key International Honors Society. She has a Doctorate degree in Social Psychology (but she is not a Licensed Psychologist), and is currently completing her dissertation for a Doctorate in Health Behavioral Psychology.
Dr. Mary is thoroughly trained in all areas of Nutrition and Wellness, with more than 25 years experience in the Health and Fitness industry. She currently maintains a successful Nutrition and Wellness Consulting practice, Designs for Healthy Lifestyles, in South Florida where she lives with her 18-year-old son Alexander. Dr. Mary's extensive background in health care has given her the opportunity to work with people of all ages, from all walks of life. However, she has a special place in her heart for children and teens and has recently put a greater focus on working with those coping with obesity and eating disorders. She is sensitive to the special needs of children with food-related disorders, having suffered from obesity as a child and a tumultuous journey with anorexia nervosa and bulimia as a teen and young adult. Dr. Mary knows the secrets to adopting a healthy lifestyle and will help you and your family achieve your goals every step of the way!
